Thurmond Kirchner & Timbes, P.A. is pleased to announce the promotion of Johnny J. Evans and Robert D. Robbins to the position of partner.
Evans and Robbins helped launch the firm’s Dorchester office in 2018. Evans has practiced law with Thurmond Kirchner & Timbes, P.A., since September 2016, focusing his practice on criminal defense. He earned his Juris Doctorate magna cum laude from the Charleston School of Law in 2015. Evans has been named to South Carolina’s Super Lawyers Rising Stars for 2023 and 2024.
“JJ had nearly 20 years of experience as a law enforcement officer in South Carolina prior to coming to TKT. His unique background coupled with his depth of understanding of the law and his relentless work ethic has been invaluable to our clients and the firm over the years. As well as being an attorney at Thurmond Kirchner & Timbes, P.A., Evans is also a municipal prosecutor for the Town of Moncks Corner and teaches DUI enforcement and Courtroom Testimony, as well as the Principles of Cross-examination, to law enforcement throughout the nation.
Robbins joined Thurmond Kirchner & Timbes, P.A. in June 2018, where he focuses his practice on criminal defense, criminal and civil litigation, and governmental relations. Robbins has practiced in the private sector of law, as the First Circuit Deputy Solicitor for Dorchester County (1997), First Circuit Deputy Solicitor for Orangeburg and Calhoun Counties (2001-2003), and as First Circuit Solicitor for Dorchester County (2004-2005) appointed by Governor Mark Sanford before returning to the private sector.

Robby continues to demonstrate excellence in his practice with a personable touch that is so distinctly his own. Robbins has a myriad of awards, recognitions, and involvements, and as well as being an attorney at Thurmond Kirchner & Timbes, P.A., Robbins served as DOT Commissioner and was elected as a South Carolina House Representative in 2022.
