CHARLESTON, S.C. (JUNE 28, 2018) — The Charleston-based law firm of Thurmond, Kirchner & Timbes, P.A. (TKT) is pleased to welcome Robby as Attorney of Counsel for the firm’s newly opened Summerville office located at 814-A North Cedar Street, Summerville, South Carolina 29483.
Born in Charleston and a native of St. George, Robby received his bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina in 1984. He also obtained his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law, graduating in 1987. From 1997 through 2003 Robby served as the First Circuit Deputy Solicitor for the counties of Dorchester, Orangeburg and Calhoun after ten years of private practice legal experience. In 2004, he was appointed Solicitor by then Governor Mark Sanford.
Returning to the private sector in 2005, Robby founded Robert D. Robbins, Attorney at Law, LLC, in Summerville, South Carolina, where he has practiced for the last ten years. In June of 2018, Robby joined TKT to launch the Dorchester office.
“I have formed strong ties to the Summerville community after living and practicing in Dorchester County for the past 30 years,” said Robbins. “My kids were educated in Dorchester District 2 while I served in various local civic organizations. I look forward to furthering my service to this community as an attorney at Thurmond Kirchner & Timbes.”
Robby will handle a broad array of cases including criminal defense, DUI defense, personal injury, workers compensation, business litigation, and local government relations.

Robbins is a member and past Board chair of the Greater Summerville/Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce, past Chairman of the Summerville Exchange Club, former Board member and counsel to the Dorchester Children’s Center, past recipient of the Best Cicenia Award, Summerville Rotary Honorary Paul Harris Fellow, and a Summerville Journal Scene Men to Watch Award winner.
