The Aiken Kite Festival dates back at least 10 years, and was originally held in Perry Park, next to Schofield Middle School. This year the event was hosted by the City of Aiken Parks, Recreation & Tourism at Citizen Park. It was a huge success. 2,453 people were in attendance which was an increase of about 700 from the 2017 event. Attendees enjoyed flying kites, playing on inflatables, riding a trackless train and other fun outdoor activities.
We all enjoyed live performances by Aiken Community Playhouse, Southern Thunder Cloggers, and Suzuki Strings.
“It was a great turnout … and the weather was perfect. We loved sponsoring the event and getting to meet and speak to so many local families!” said TKT attorney Caroline West.
